The Hoogovens Museum
The Hoogovens Museum shows the history of the Steel Company (now Tata Steel) in IJmuiden. The development of the Iron and Steel Industry is kept alive by presenting objects, historical documents, photos and film material. The museum is located in a historic building, the old pipe foundry, which is located just outside the industrial site behind the Tata Steel Congress Center in IJmuiden.
The entrance fee for the museum is € 5 per person, including coffee or tea.
For children from 5 to 12 years € 2.50.
Admission is free for donors upon presentation of their donor card.
Pay as much as possible with pin or contactless (pin or mobile).
Parking is free. The museum is wheelchair accessible.
In accordance with the current national corona guidelines, wearing a mouth cap in the museum is mandatory. In addition, we ask for a valid corona ticket (QR code) when entering the museum. This can be a vaccination certificate, recovery certificate or a negative test result of up to 24 hours old when entering the location. Visitors must register in advance via this registration tool. The entrance fee can be paid on the spot. From June 26, 2021, the mouth cap obligation will expire! (We follow government rules for this)
The Hoogovensmuseum is currently only open on weekends on Saturday and Sunday from 10.30 am to 4 pm. To get a good impression of the collection, we ask you to take into account a visit of 1.5 to 2 hours.
